BUISNESS-TO-BUSINESS ACCELERATOR
WINGSPRING ANNOUNCES FIRST STRATEGIC INVESTMENT
RedKnife
Inc. to Begin Operations at Wingspring's State-of-the-Art Incubator
and Technology Center
PALO ALTO, CA (March 1, 2000) Wingspring,
a business-to-business "springboard" that accelerates early-stage
Internet ventures, today announced its funding of a new ASP hub
that integrates trading communities.
The first of an estimated eight partner companies
to take advantage of Wingspring's incubation services by year's
end, RedKnife Inc. provides trading community integration, transaction
processing services, and trading community services. In addition
to an investment in RedKnife, Wingspring will incubate the company
at its newly opened state-of-the-art Incubator and Technology Center
in Pleasanton, CA.
"RedKnife is poised for tremendous success
in the business-to-business marketplace," said Jack Herndon, Co-founder
and Vice President of Business Development. "Wingspring will help
accelerate that success by combining a bold new concept with unparalleled
experience and strategic execution."
Wingspring's concept is much more than a
traditional incubator because it allows partner companies to "hit
the ground running" by providing financial, operations and facilities
experts to help bulldoze through legal incorporation, banking relationships,
and office infrastructure. Wingspring assists in business plan development;
the forging of a positive revenue model; hiring a world-class team;
and development of a strong marketing program.
RedKnife is an integration "hub," allowing
clients to integrate only once. The company then integrates with
each partner in the trading community, eliminating this chore for
the client. This accelerates trading community development, enabling
communities to form more quickly than using traditional integration
methods. RedKnife provides a non-invasive, end-to-end solution,
nearly eliminating the need for any additional trading partner integration.
RedKnife translates trading partner catalog
and transaction data into any format, including popular XML, EDI,
and other formats. The company provides order processing, logistics
management, and catalog aggregation service to trading communities.
